IDEOSPHERE: The realm of memetic evolution, as the biosphere is the realm of biological evolution. The entire memetic ecology. (Hofstadter.) The health of an ideosphere can be measured by its memetic diversity.

The spread of ideas, the self replicating substructure inherent in all our species, can be enhanced by certain key psychological events. Experience leads to evolution, and it is through this evolution that creativity may flourish. Ideosphere will provide the groundwork for future events, held at VFS Multimedia. It will bring together multiple talents from within the school and the surrounding artistic, academic, and technological community. This event and all hence will introduce new talents, ideas, and engender an experience unparalleled in Vancouver.

Ideosphere will be the meeting point for artists, academics, and technology. This point will provide the means for the furthering of education and awareness of the new technologies, the world at large, and of ourselves. With the advent of high bandwidth connectivity to the internet, this education is not limited solely to the institution wherein the event is held. With future developments Ideosphere will be able to hold virtual lectures and events with universities, design schools, electronic cafes, major conferences, and individuals.

Education, experience, and change beget evolution. The individual in today's society must take part in all three, if they are to survive. Culture, technology, and day to day living will be overwhelming if one does not self evolve. Ideosphere will provide some of the nutritive elements necessary for this evolution. Real-time interaction with other individuals around the globe can have a startling affect on one's perception of the world. When this communication includes music, video, speech, and graphical/iconographic conversation - the chance for evolution is greatly heightened. Ideosphere will be a meeting ground for all of these possibilities, with public accessibility. The future of these events will incorporate instantaneous interactions by individuals worldwide to form a seamless exposition of the present day society or the ancient Egyptian _KA_ - the image of society.
